Resource Development

The Resource Development committee works to enhance the resources of the Council through fundraising, educational offerings, and other opportunities.  Throughout the year, the committee schedules various events and offerings to in-home service providers on emerging issues and on topics of on-going concern to providers.  All providers have the opportunity to register for the events, but members receive a discounted price.  Currently, no events are scheduled due to the upcoming conference, but below are a sampling of topics that have been covered.  Each of the teleconference topics are available for purchase.  Please contact the Council office for additional information.

Teleconferences

Client Files Teleconference

Barb Rueter with the Department of Health & Senior Services, presented the teleconference which included information on what monitors specifically expect for each agency to include in their client files based on regulations.  Information covered included:  storage of files; privacy measures to enforce; information that needs to be contained in files; when the information needs to be included; and who should have access to files.

Employee Files Teleconference

Barb Rueter with the Department of Health & Senior Services, also presented the employee files teleconference which included information on the storage of files; privacy measures to enforce; information that needs to be continued in files; when information needs to be included; and who should have access to the files.  The teleconference specifically addressed files for employees rather than client files.

Three Part Nursing Series

The three part nursing series, originally held in April 2006, includes the purpose and goals of the nursing summary; physical assessment and documentation requirements for the nursing assessment; and required documentation on the summary form to determine the level of care for the Department of Health & Senior Services for authorization of the appropriate services in a social worker friendly format.  The three part series was presented jointly by in-home provider nurses and individuals from the Department of Health & Senior Services.
